Reviews and Ratings
I found the hotel to be quite cheap for Edinburgh at that time of year. The room was spotlessly clean and had everything we needed. It was on the main floor and quiet, although there were some noises from people talking at reception. The bus stop was conveniently right outside the door, and there were nearby options for dining as well as a grocery store. However, being in the 'annex' located in the basement of another house a few doors down could be considered a downside.
The hotel's rooms were tiny and not ideal for sharing with two people, however, the staff was friendly and helpful. Despite the room size, I would consider a return visit for a solo stay. The location allowed for a good night's sleep and easy access to attractions in Edinburgh. The dining experience was a bit repetitive but sufficient for a quick meal.
The hotel room was dark and uncomfortable and a bit overpriced compared to a bed in a hostel dormitory, but the service was outstanding with exceptionally friendly staff who even helped us find affordable local dining options. The location, though needing some improvement, was close enough to public services and the city center, offering a peaceful night's sleep. The dining experience was okay, serving a continental breakfast that was sufficient but not exceptional.
The hotel's location was very convenient, with the bus stop right outside the door and close proximity to a grocery store and dining options. The rooms, though small, were comfortable thanks to the building's heating. The service was a mix of helpfulness and unhelpfulness. The dining experience had cheerful and efficient service but was marred by a ceiling leak that canceled breakfast unexpectedly.
My stay at the hotel had its ups and downs. The rooms looked very unclean and drafty, which was quite disappointing. However, the staff at the reception were friendly and helpful. The location was convenient for getting around, although a bit far from the city center. The dining experience was simple, but adequate. Although the price was good, there were some issues with basic customer service skills and the lack of air conditioning.
